Bank of Asia and the Red Crescent are implementing a joint social project

28 June 2017

At the beginning of May 2017, an earthquake occurred on the border between Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan, which affected more than a thousand families from five villages of the Chon-Alai district of the Osh region: Kara-Myk, Kara-Teiit, Shibae, Jekendi, Chuluk. According to the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Kyrgyz Republic, more than 500 houses (categories 4 and 5) were completely or partially destroyed.

“Bank of Asia” together with the NRCS of the Kyrgyz Republic (National Red Crescent Society of the Kyrgyz Republic) plan to distribute unconditional cash compensation for the 550 most affected families in the Chon-Alai district of Osh oblast in the near future. Thanks to a joint project, residents of this region will be able to receive monetary compensation in the amount of 13,900 soms by means of free-issued bank cards of Elcart Bank of Asia CJSC. For this project, 550 Elcart debit cards will be specially made with preferential conditions: free issue, first year of card servicing, as well as cash withdrawal at ATMs / POS terminals of “Bank of Asia” which will be free throughout the “Friendly Network” of Kyrgyz banks.

We want to note that this is not the first jointly implemented project of the NRCS with the Bank of Asia. Employees and Red Crescent volunteers, together with bank employees, will start issuing cards and PIN envelopes to victims in the Chon-Alai District of Osh Region from June 28 to 30, 2017.
